All hail to the kings of volleyball court.
With their powerful spikes and unwavering spirits, Sapang Palay National High School (SPNHS) volleyball boys proved how undefeatable they are, sweaping a clean record of 3-0 against Sto. Cristo National High School (SCNHS) in the Public Secondary School Athletics Association (PSSAA) Final Match, held at JICA court, December 09, 2023.
A series of groundbreaking spikes bursted out from the MVP of the game, Kyle De Juan, clasp with ripping spikes of their team captain, McLaren Geenald Signey, spearheading their team to victory.
21-13, De Juan starts the match with a fiery spike marking a start up lead on the first set, and another fierceful spike, ending the game with an 8-point lead.
An exchange of service error commence the second set of the match, following De Juan's heated spike, laddering up a 4-point lead. This caused SCNHS to call for a time-out, but the SPNHS did not allow them to take advantage of the game, pouring out dominant attacks, ending the set with 15-point lead, 21-6.
2-0, SPNHS' captain, Signey starts the last set with a blazing spike, but Nazario, captain of SCNHS, answered with unwavering spike igniting back the fire on the heart of his teammates.
SCNHS tries to snatch the momentum by creating a 3-point lead in the middle of the set, but SPNHS chase the 3-point lead and launch a 7-point lead, 19-11. Once again, De Juan ends the match with a ferocious spike, 21-13.
Lagi nakatatak samin ang SPNHS, Home of the Champions." SPNHS' captain, Signey said.
The SPNHS' team is composed of these athletes: Mclaren Signey (Team Captain), Kerby Obeda, Kennedy Benitez, Kyle De Juan, James Baquiran, Gian Dziergas, Evan Dequiña, Andrei Mingi, Mark Dolorito, Bernard Salanguit, Andrei Larin, Ruscel Dejapa, Charles Taladro, Ayen Lucero, Rojan Come.
"The reason why I become the MVP of the game, number 1, is my coach, Sir Gamba. You know last year? When we lost in CLRAA 2023, coach Gamba gave me an opportunity to play again and represent our school. And now, I have proven to my coach that I'm still not enough and this is the time to be better and a worthy athlete of our school. And last, my teammates, without my teammates I cannot prove that where I am, is what I am right now. And, that's why I'm being thankful today because of my teammates." De Juan, the MVP of the match spoken.
Moreover, the SPNHS volleyball team will represent the PSSAA in the upcoming City Meet, which requires them to train more and improve their play.
Signey, once again stated.
