Cluster 5 dominates 9th Arya-Aryahan Dance Competition

Embarking a history for the 9th Tanglawan Festival Celebration, competitors from different clusters of the City of San Jose del Monte (CSJDM) competed for the Arya-Aryahan Dance Parade and Cultural Dance last September 8 at City Sports Complex.

Group 4 (Cluster 5) bagged the Overall Championship followed by Group 7 (Cluster 10) which got the 2nd place and Group 5 (Cluster 4) with 3rd place. 


Meanwhile, for the Street Dance Parade, Group 4 (Cluster 5) won the championship, followed by Group 3 (Cluster 9), and Group 7 (Cluster 10), which also got the Best Lantern and Best Costume awards. 


Moreover, Group 5 (Cluster 4) took the championship for the Cultural Dance together with the Best in Choreography award, while Group 4 (Cluster 5) acquired 2nd place and Best Production Design award, leaving Group 7 (Cluster 10) with the 3rd place. 


The program began with the introduction of the judges, followed by the colorful Arya-Aryahan Dance Parade, in which the contenders flaunted their elegant costumes and props through dances.


Afterward, the Cultural Dance Competition commenced, with each cluster passing a lantern after their dance performance, emphasizing the symbolic meaning of "tanglawan" which derives from the term "tanglaw" meaning light.
